In the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association Relief News from Taiwan, also known as Formosa…

As winter temperatures dropped quickly in Taiwan (Formosa), our Association members took to the streets of their respective regions to bring comfort and aid to the homeless. In accordance with Supreme Master Ching Hai’s reminder to always help the most in need, they sought out first those who were living without shelter. Over several weeks in late November and December, our Association members offered aid to vulnerable homeless persons across the country.

In northern Taiwan (Formosa), our Taoyuan Association members worked with the Taoyuan Branch and Zhongli Branch of the Zenan Homeless Social Welfare Foundation to provide urgently needed materials such as warm jackets, trousers, and sleeping bags for distribution to the vulnerable homeless living outdoors.

Association members in the northern cities of Taipei, Keelung, and Hsinchu visited homeless friends on the streets and in the railway stations, where they gave out winter items like warm packs and clothing, sleeping bags, as well as vegan food. In Taipei, 300 hot vegan meals were served, including special tonic soup with ginger. The Alternative Living flyers were also distributed in the hope that all will be vegan as soon as possible for their own happiness and the peace of the world. The recipients reported that they felt warm and touched by Master’s loving care. Additionally, Association members from Hsinchu delivered goods to the Jianshi Township to be distributed to low-income households.

Our Yilan Center Association members brought clothing and vegan food supplies to those in need.

In the central regions of Nantou, Miaoli, Changhua, and the Taiwanese (Formosan) island of Penghu, our Association members offered aid to homeless persons living outdoors, as well as basic necessities to other families in need. Wishing to warm people’s hearts as well as their bodies, they lovingly provided clothing to shield them from the cold, such as winter coats, hats and scarves, as well as vegan food supplies.

Taichung Association members visited both poor and homeless people, bringing vegan food supplies as well as warm clothes, according to their needs. Recipients expressed their gratitude for these practical gifts as well as the uplifting Alternative Living flyers and Master’s book, “Love Is the Only Solution.”

Hualien Association members gave necessities to the homeless as well as disadvantaged students and others in need.

In Taiwan’s (Formosa’s) south, our Association members in Taitung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung carried out winter relief activities in their respective regions.

Taitung Association members, accompanied by the head of the Taitung Station of Zenan Homeless Social Welfare Foundation, went to several local outdoor areas, where they gave out sleeping bags and warm clothing items.

Gift packages containing hot lunch boxes and clothing items were caringly distributed by Tainan Center to the homeless people living in Tainan Park. The Association members were also able to convey Master’s Love to 100 dog-people through the delivery of vegan food to a local dog-person shelter.

Our Association members in Kaohsiung, together with Director Weng Wenzheng of the Kaohsiung Lianshan Liren Association, went on four consecutive nights to locations in the urban area where the homeless were living outdoors. There, they presented convenient-to-carry packs containing warm clothes, daily necessities, and vegan food items. Recipients were also shown a short video excerpt of Master’s urgent message, “Last Call to Turn Vegan and Repent Sincerely.”

Our Pingtung Center teamed with a local shelter’s social workers, as well as a Pingtung County government official, to go to Pingtung railway station and several other rural townships, bringing packages containing sleeping bags, warm clothing, and vegan foods for the homeless there.

Also in the south, our Association members brought warm clothing items and treats like vegan chocolate and vegan eight-treasure porridge to the homeless in the Chiayi area, the Yunlin area, and to the Yunlin Peace Station of the Zenan Foundation.

Our Association members are thankful to every soul living in the streets for the opportunity to offer respect and further awaken our compassion through their vulnerable situations. The humble joy of the recipients is a gift beyond measure.

We deeply appreciate our Beloved Master’s reminder to always care for the less fortunate. Our gratitude for the kindhearted efforts of our Taiwanese (Formosan) Association members, as we also thank the local government agencies and charities for their assistance and care of our homeless friends. Throughout this winter and beyond, may all be blessed with comfort, safety, and the security of knowing we are always loved by the Divine.
