In today’s news, one million people in Madagascar lack sufficient food due to severe drought, an additional 230 million fall into poverty in India due to COVID-19, research from Australia finds eating more fruits and vegetables decreases stress, engineers in the United States make advancements in electric car battery technology, youth saves elderly woman’s life in Spain, vegan model from Mexico wins Miss Universe 2021 title, and sea turtle nests increase on the Cayman Islands.

Severe drought in Madagascar has left over one million people without adequate food.

Madagascar is currently four years into the worst drought the nation has faced in 40 years, leaving more than one million citizens without enough food to eat. As an agricultural nation, it is highly reliant on the weather, yet last year the south part of the island only received 50% of the rain that would normally arrive during planting season, with climate change playing a key role. COVID-19 has also had a significant impact, as farmers wishing to migrate to urban areas for work have found that tourism and a lot of businesses are closed. Such saddening news, Madagascar, on the effects of climate change and COVID-19 on your gentle inhabitants. We pray that the situation will soon ease and rains nourish your land, in Heaven’s grace.

India experiences an increased poverty in the nation because of COVID.

According to a report by Azim Premji University in India, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the lock-downs in the country, approximately 230 million people have fallen into poverty. This was classified as living on less than US$5 per day. Incomes were reduced across the nation, with the biggest effect on the disadvantaged. Young people and women were the most affected, with almost half of the women not being able to find employment even after the lockdowns were over at the end of last year. Thank you for the report, Azim Premji University. With deep sorrow for all those affected in India and around the world who are struggling during this difficult time, we pray that the pandemic will soon end and that all may be able to provide for their families, in the kindness of the Divine.

Up next, research from Australia finds eating more fruits and vegetables decreases stress. We would like to take a few moments to give thanks to all the hard-working gondoliers who transport people from one place to another on the canals in Venice, Italy. When we return, more healthy news ahead, here on Supreme Master Television! Vegan = all beings’ best friend!

Good day, smart viewers, it’s Gabby the vegan Gibbon. Since I became vegan, people are kinder to me. Give it a try and see for yourself. If you have someone in your household who walks unsteadily, consider applying a carpet that has a low-profile and commercial-grade “level loop” or “cut pile.” These types of carpet texture will allow your loved one to move around more safely and easily. Make sure the carpet’s pile height is around one centimeter and the pad is approximately half a centimeter. A thinner carpet pile with a thinner pad will help lessen the chances of tripping and falling, and makes it easier to steer walkers and wheelchairs. Thank you for your attention, and lots of love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants. Now it’s time for the worldwide weather.

Australian study finds that eating more fruits and vegetables decreases stress.

In a recent study, PhD candidate Simone Radavelli-Bagatini and co-researchers from Edith Cowan University in Australia found that people who eat more fruits and vegetables have lower levels of perceived stress. The research involved 8,600 people between the ages of 25 and 91. It was seen that those who ate 470 grams of veggies and fruits had 10% less stress than people who ate only 230 grams. Although the exact way in which the healthy foods achieve these results is not known, it is possibly due to their extensive minerals, vitamins, carotenoids and flavonoids, which can reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, thus improving mental well-being. Thank you, Simone Radavelli-Bagatini and co-researchers, for helping to highlight the benefits of consuming fruits and vegetables. In Celestial love, may more people join the shift to life-enhancing plant-based diets.

United States engineers make major advancement in electric car battery technology.

Researchers from Harvard University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in the United States have created a solid-state lithium battery for electric vehicles which uses solid metal lithium, as opposed to lithium ions which are used in today’s batteries. This will enable vehicles to fully charge within a fraction of the time that it currently takes, while also allowing the batteries to hold more energy and last for 10,000 recharge cycles. The next step will be to scale up the design for commercialization. Way to go, engineers from Harvard University. May your remarkable advancement in battery design contribute to a zero-carbon future for our cars, as we continue to discover more eco-friendlier technologies in Heaven’s blessings.

Hero saves elderly woman in danger from falling off a balcony.

Camilo Medina, a 24-year-old psychology student, rescued an 80-year-young woman who was precariously positioned on the balcony of a building in Calahorra, a city in the La Rioja region of Spain. Mr. Medina was at the nearby family business when his father came in and told him about the woman in the dangerous situation. The young student immediately grabbed a ladder, climbed to the first-floor balcony, scaled the building to the second floor to reach the woman, and lifted her to safety. The rescued woman had been hanging perilously over the edge of the balcony almost 10 meters high from the ground. She was later taken to the hospital for a check-up. We salute your swift actions in helping the elderly stranger in distress, Camilo Medina. May God bless you, your family, and the lady you saved. May such heroic actions be an inspiration to many and remind us of the basic goodness we should have, in God’s compassion.

Coming up, vegan model from Mexico wins Miss Universe 2021 title. We’ll just take a moment to open the windows to ventilate our room for a few minutes. Your beauty shines from inside out. May all the humane and just values you stand for spread throughout our global society, in God’s righteousness.

Sea turtles recovering from near extinction on Cayman Islands.

A study by the Cayman Islands Department of Environment and the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom found that from 1998 to 2019, the number of sea turtle nests had increased from 39 to 675. The rising numbers are accounted for by loggerhead and green turtles while the number of hawksbill turtles remained low. Historically, the Cayman Islands was home to millions of sea turtles, whose numbers drastically decreased by the early 1800s due to human activity. The increase is credited to a number of factors, such as protection initiatives by the Cayman Islands Department of Environment on nesting beaches. Conservation efforts have also come from the entire community, including businesses, organizations and members of the public. What wonderful news. A hearty applause for the community effort in restoring the population of sea turtles in the Cayman Islands. May all marine life continue to be protected and flourish under the protective gaze of the Providence.

Have a good laugh with the joke of the day entitled, “Looking Up.”

One night during a camping trip, Sherlock Holmes woke up Doctor Watson who was sleeping next to him and asked:

“Watson, look up. What do you see?”

“I see countless stars.”

“And what does that tell you?”

After thinking for a while, Watson replied:

“Well, let’s see... It tells me that there are billions of galaxies in our universe. It’s also between 3 and 4 o’clock in the morning. And we’re going to have good weather. What does it tell you, Holmes?”

“That someone has stolen our tent!”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Kayleen in the United States:

Greetings Saints! Keep up the great work! The clips showcasing all the vegan foods like cheese, ice cream, donuts, cakes, soy proteins, all of which are plant-based, show viewers that they will not miss out on any foods while going vegan. My mouth was watering, watching the beautiful food clips. Brilliant idea! Kayleen from the United States

Appreciative Kayleen, Thanks for your positive feedback. We, too, find the vegan food clips soooo inviting and want to try them all! May God’s Grace bring you and the inspiring American people good fortune. In Heavens Light, Supreme Master TV team
