Tom Justyniarski is an inspirational educator and author who has visited over 300,000 children in schools, with a goal of helping them expand their compassion for animals. His program, “Lessons of Love for Animals,” is presented with the help of his faithful canine companion, Lusia. Additionally, Mr. Justyniarski has authored 11 highly acclaimed children’s books that impart the noble ideals of love, empathy and respect. His book “Dogs’ Worries” is based on the true story of a dog in Mr. Justyniarski’s younger life. This book has not only won an award from Poland’s Ministry of Education, but it has also been made part of the reading curriculum for school children. “Let me introduce my family. I came here with my daughter Natalia and with Lusia – the dog teacher. And this biggest day in my life is also Natalia’s birthday. Natalia’s coming made me dream that I would like to change the next generation of kids – for kids who will have feeling, for kids who will be sensitive, who will have open Light, who will have open hearts and who will live in paradise.” To honor his uplifting work, our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai gratefully offered Tom Justyniarski the Shining World Compassion Award and “a token of support of US$10,000 with all love, and best wishes for further success in bringing love to many corners of our world.”

United States, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate, supports food security in Zimbabwe.
The United States Agency for International Development contributed an additional US$10 million towards the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to support families in urban areas of Zimbabwe, who are currently experiencing food insecurity as a result of COVID-19. This funding is expected to benefit almost 100,000 people in the form of monthly cash transfers, and will fulfill nearly two-thirds of their daily food needs. Additionally, WFP is bolstering its monthly cash support to at least 550,000 people in 20 of the most food insecure urban areas in the country. Our heartfelt gratitude, the United States, for your generous contribution, and the World Food Programme, for your constant assistance to those in need. Japan inaugurates a high-speed train that can operate during an earthquake.
Japan’s new N700S train can reach speeds of up to a record-setting 360 kilometers per hour, and will operate at 285 kilometers per hour during normal operations. The N700S travels between Tokyo Station and Shin-Osaka Station in Osaka, and can be used to evacuate people during earthquakes. Recently put into operation, it has an enhanced automatic control and braking system to stop quickly in an emergency, contains a lithium-ion battery that can be used for a short time to move the vehicle to safe locations in case of a power outage, and has been designed for more comfort than previous models. Jordan designs mobile clinics to serve remote regions during COVID-19 pandemic.
The King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB), a state-owned enterprise, and United States- headquartered shipping and distribution company, ADC Logistics, have joined forces to create a multi-functional mobile clinic for disadvantaged people in isolated areas. Fulfilling His Majesty King Abdullah’s vision of helping those in need, the unit can be used for COVID-19 testing and care for affected individuals, and is also equipped with intensive and basic healthcare services. Furthermore, the temperature inside the clinic stays steady even under extreme weather conditions. KADDB stated, “Our mobile clinic unit is designed to provide ease of operation, safety, reliability and accessibility for repair and maintenance.” Kudos, King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau and ADC Logistics, for your life-supporting unit. “Skipping Sikh” recognized by United Kingdom Prime Minister with distinguished community volunteer award.
His Excellency Prime Minister Boris Johnson, a Shining World Leadership for Caring Award laureate, honored 73-year-young Rajinder Singh, from London, UK, with the “Points of Light” award for filming exercise videos during lockdown. Mr. Singh’s skipping challenge has encouraged over 250,000 viewers to stay positive and active, while concurrently fundraising over £12,000 for the National Health Service (NHS). Prime Minister Johnson thanked Mr. Singh for his support of “our extraordinary NHS” and helping people “ to keep their spirits high.” The modest grandfather, whose motto is “health is wealth,” responded, “I love to serve others – it’s part of who I am as a Sikh and I love to do sewa (give back).” We offer our heartiest applause, Mr. Rajinder Singh, for your well-deserved award. Research reveals that plant-based meat sales increase when they are located in the meat aisle.
A study by the Plant Based Foods Association and major retail company Kroger, both in the United States, has revealed that the sales of plant-based meats increased by an average of 23% when the products were sold in the meat section. The research was conducted over 12 weeks in 60 test stores in the states of Indiana, Colorado, and Illinois, with the Midwest region seeing the biggest increase at 32%. Interviews were also conducted with shoppers, who expected the plant-based meat items to be in the meat aisle, making it easier to find them. Thank you, Plant Based Foods Association and Kroger, for finding better ways to make vegan products seen by the public. Marine animal sanctuary to open in Greece.
Founded by Greece-based nonprofit, Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation, together with various universities, the Aegean Marine Life Sanctuary (AMLS) is slated to open in 2021 on the Greek island of Leipsoi. It will be the world’s first natural-environment rescue, research and conservation center for marine animals, providing clinical care and rehabilitative treatment to sick or injured animals, including dolphins, sea turtles and seals. The sanctuary is currently in development with support from the municipal authority and local community. AMLS hopes their safe haven will honor Greece’s heritage of protecting marine animals, and will begin their initiative with six dolphins.
