European Union (EU) provides winter relief assistance in Ukraine (Ureign).
Following a recent meeting with Ukraine’s (Ureign’s) president, His Excellency Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a Shining World Leadership Award for Bravery laureate, European Commissioner for Crisis Management, His Excellency Janez Lenarčič, announced a contribution of over €62 million. This will provide warm shelters and other equipment, including beds and heaters, for 46,000 Ukrainians (Ureignians) in the Rivne, Bucha, and Kharkiv regions for winter. Further assistance of €175 million will be provided to Ukraine (Ureign) and Moldova to support more shelters as well as improve education in emergency situations, healthcare, and social protection capacity. The EU has coordinated with all 27 member states, plus Norway, Türkiye, North Macedonia and Iceland, to help Ukraine (Ureign) – its largest effort in history under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. With this new aid, EU humanitarian aid to Ukraine (Ureign) since the war’s start now exceeds €500 million. The European Union is a recipient of four Shining World Leadership Awards for Humanitarianism, two Shining World Leadership Awards for Peace, and a Shining World Leadership Award for Earth Protection; as well as a laureate of two Shining World Leadership Awards for Humanitarianism, and Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring. Some farmers in the United States, who are planting overwintering wheat, are seeing the fertilizer evaporate due to dry conditions that are affecting nearly 75% of their farmlands, which are in moderate to extreme drought. The nation’s corn-growing region is also in a similar situation, with 70% of land affected. The conditions are expected to stunt the growth of the plants, which usually sprout before the winter, go dormant, and then start regrowing again when the weather warms. Fall fertilizer applications are also feared to be hindered, which would result in smaller crops next winter. I can see this so clearly, that how we spend our current lifetime determines our existence after leaving this world. Therefore, it's so important we tread the path of mercy and cultivate benevolence towards all beings. Here is a tip on how to make deli-style vegan bell pepper sandwiches! You will need vegan cream cheese, two medium bell peppers, whole grain or Dijon mustard, half of a ripe avocado, kosher salt, four thin slices of plant-based ham, baby spinach, and a slice of vegan Provolone cheese. In a small bowl, add in 2 tablespoons (30 grams) of plant-based cream cheese and leave it at room temperature until it is slightly softened. Next, slice off the tops and bottoms of two medium, well-washed bell peppers. Cut each of them in half lengthwise and take out the inner core, seeds, and pale ribs. Then, put 2 teaspoons (10 grams) of whole grain or Dijon mustard into the vegan cream cheese and mix well. Evenly split up the mixture and place it inside two of the bell pepper halves and spread it out. Then, take a half of a ripe avocado, peel it, and remove the pit. Next, place it in the small bowl and add in one-eighth teaspoon (0.6 grams) of kosher salt, and use a fork to mash it together to your liking. Divide the mashed avocado up and spread it evenly inside the remaining two bell pepper halves. Then, take four thin slices of vegan ham, one-fourth cup (32 grams) of washed baby spinach leaves, and a slice of plant-based Provolone cheese and place them onto the vegan cream cheese-bell pepper halves. Set the avocado-bell pepper halves on top to complete the sandwiches. Voilà! Now you have a tasty, nutritious meal! Thank you for tuning in. Canada-headquartered environmental nonprofit Canopy has received support from 515 fashion and apparel brands worldwide, such as BAM Clothing, Nique and L’Estrange, that have pledged not to use materials from endangered and ancient forests. Under the CanopyStyle initiative, the companies have committed to investing in and using low-carbon and low-impact alternatives, including recycled fabrics, in their fashion products. During this decade, the Earth-loving organization has the goal of increasing its efforts to help ensure that forests are not disturbed or cut down for materials and promote circular production processes to safeguard resources. Saudi Arabia supports water project in Comoros.
The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), a government agency, is supporting a US$5 million clean water project in Comoros’s capital city of Moroni. This plan will improve the water and food supply, decrease illnesses and epidemics, and boost the availability of clean water to 83,000 people across 17 villages. A better water system and distribution network will be built, including a water treatment plant. More water tanks will be constructed in villages, thus adding to the existing water sources and network. SFD has been aiding economic growth in the east African nation since 1981. Multiple soft development loan initiatives worth US$61 million and three grants totaling US$10 million have helped create more jobs and support development in Comoros. Saudi Arabia is a laureate of two Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, a Shining World Leadership Award for Peace and a Shining World Leadership for Loving Care Award. Delivery driver helps reunite homeless individuals with their families.
As a delivery driver, Hong Chengmu travels through many streets in the Fujian Province of China. He regularly notices people without a home and wants to help them find a place to stay. Often, those who have been separated from family have not been able to find their way back home, due to dementia, for example, leaving them homeless. In one case, Mr. Hong saw a distressed man roaming the streets and notified a team of volunteers, as well as posted a video online. Thankfully, the man’s family came across the video, and they were happily reunited. Earning the nickname “the greatest delivery courier,” Mr. Hong has reunited 72 individuals with their families during the past three years. Course on beginning vegan enterprises opened in Germany.
The Vegan Business School was founded in Berlin, Germany, this year to help people start vegan companies. The founder of the school, Mirjam Walser (vegan), shares her own experiences in launching businesses with students as she has learned of the challenges and obstacles that may be encountered. The four-month live online program focuses primarily on women and teaches the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and how to foster a positive mindset. Ms. Walser said, “Moving towards a more vegan-friendly world is my vision and what drives me in everything I do.” Way to go, Mirjam Walser, on your endeavor to encourage the starting of vegan ventures. Dexter, a seven-year-old Brittany spaniel, was adopted by Kentee and Tim Pasek from Ouray, Colorado, USA, as a puppy. At nearly a year old, he severely damaged his two front legs and had to have his right paw amputated after unfortunately being run over by a car. With the love of his caregivers, Dexter was successfully rehabilitated and remained joyously loving life. One day, Mrs. Pasek was amazed to see Dexter climbing the stairs by jumping up on his two back legs. After that, he started walking and running on two legs, which he much prefers to using a wheelchair. Dexter has thousands of Instagram followers, and his unique walk put to music went viral on TikTok. Bravo, sweet Dexter. May you have many more joyful years ahead with your beloved caregivers, Kentee and Tim Pasek, as you inspire many, in God’s loving Protection.

Greetings to our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai, I always pray for Your health. I had an experience on the first night of June that I want to share with You. That night, after an hour and a half of meditation, I went to sleep. But I was still repeating the Holy Names and the Gift until I fell asleep. I woke up about two and a half hours later. Although it was spring, I shivered from the cold when I woke up, as if I were asleep in ice water. I had pain all over my body. I immediately threw another blanket next to me on the blanket I had, but it was useless. I was thinking of You at that time. I had not yet asked for help when I saw and felt Your presence, and You slowly relieved all the pain and cold that I had in me. I felt Your presence in every part of my body, and although I was suffering from much pain and cold, I was not worried because You were helping me. I felt and saw Your energy flow in me, and I was proud to have such a Master.
Dear Supreme Master, when You were in my being to heal me, it came to me that probably this, in the beginning, was a lot of karma for me, and You reduced it to a level that I could bear it, and You even helped me to get rid of the rest of the karma too. After recovering, I got up and noticed that the air in my room was very mild. This severe cold was only in my body. You healed me. This was a Blessing from You. Then, I started repeating the Holy Names and the Gift and meditated for about two and a half hours on the inner Heavenly Light and fell asleep again.
